Welcome to Half Moon, Montego Bay—a place where paradise feels endless.
Spread across 400 acres of sun, sea, and serenity, Half Moon has been welcoming guests since 1954. Family-owned and run, it is as much about heritage as it is about hospitality. You feel it instantly—in the warmth of the staff, many of whom have worked here for generations, carrying with them a deep love for the land and the traditions of Jamaica.

The resort began with Founders Cove, the original heart of Half Moon, where old-world charm meets the natural beauty of the Caribbean, and in 2020 it expanded with Eclipse, a modern addition that offers infinity pools, oceanfront luxury, and spaces designed for both relaxation and celebration.
Between these two worlds, Half Moon blends heritage and contemporary elegance seamlessly.
Accommodations range from private villas that offer ultimate seclusion to elegantly appointed rooms that open onto lush gardens or the sparkling sea. Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape, a family retreat, or a solo recharge, each stay feels thoughtfully curated and infused with the spirit of Jamaica.
One of the highlights of our stay was the butler service, which was both generous and attentive—handling our reservations, saving us the perfect spot by the pool or beach, and arranging activities with such ease.

Mornings here are slow and beautiful. Begin with yoga by the sea, breakfast with the sound of waves just beyond your table, or a quiet stroll along the beach. Sip a fresh coconut cracked open by hand, then wander to the infinity pool at Eclipse, where the horizon seems to stretch forever.

Afternoons invite adventure or serenity: ride along the beach on horseback, tee off on the resort’s championship golf course, or retreat to the Fern Tree Spa, where you’re invited to pause completely—to breathe, reset, and be still. For those seeking more activity, there’s snorkeling, water sports, tennis, a
nd excursions into the vibrant local culture of Montego Bay.

Dining at Half Moon is a journey in itself.
Enjoy handcrafted cocktails at Lester’s Bar, bold and soulful Jamaican flavours at Cedar’s Lounge, Italian dishes inspired by the sea at Delmare, or casual bites at Sugar Mill, set in a historic sugar plantation building. Each meal feels like its own story, offering flavours as rich and varied as the island itself.
As the day softens into golden hour, the sky paints itself in gold and rose over the Caribbean horizon.
Night brings the song of tree frogs and crickets, a soundtrack to evenings that linger over fine dining, starlit walks, and quiet moments on your private terrace.

Half Moon’s allure isn’t just in its beauty but also in its rich history.
In 1960, John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy spent a month at the resort before his inauguration as President of the United States, and a letter from Jacqueline Kennedy, written on resort stationery, remains a cherished memento displayed in the main lobby.
The resort has also hosted several members of the British Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and Prince Charles with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, each visit adding to the layers of history that make this place truly timeless.

Half Moon is more than a resort—
it’s a feeling, a tradition, and a homecoming.
Here, every day is a chance to slow down, explore, connect, and savour the beauty of the island.
It’s where you don’t just visit… you belong.
